Meet Morgan Cecil
Morgan Cecil begins her first season with Absolute Volleyball Club in 2025–26 as an Assistant Coach for the 16 Blue team. Most recently, she was named OAL Coach of the Year in 2025 after leading her team to the Oakland Section Championship and a second-round appearance in the CIF State Boys Volleyball Championship (Division IV). A standout athlete herself, Morgan competed at Berkeley High School as a middle, outside hitter, and opposite, earning Co-MVP honors her senior year.
She continued her playing career at the University of California, Berkeley, where she was a four-year starter in the Pac-10 Conference. During her time with the Golden Bears, Morgan earned recognition as Pac-10 Player of the Week, was selected to multiple All-Tournament Teams, and served as a team captain. After college, she played professionally in Europe for three seasons with Nîmes Perrier in France’s Ligue D1 and Adliswil Tornado VC in Switzerland’s League D1.
Morgan’s coaching philosophy focuses on providing athletes with the tools, support, and mindset they need to excel, while also instilling a love for the game that lasts beyond their competitive years. She is passionate about helping players grow on and off the court, believing that volleyball teaches resilience, teamwork, and confidence. She finds joy in watching committed players progress and values learning from her athletes as much as they learn from her. Outside of volleyball, she enjoys family life and running her event planning business. Her best advice for athletes looking to improve quickly? “Play grass doubles all summer!”
