Liana Capurro

Liana Capurro joins Absolute Volleyball Club with deep ties to both the Bay Area and AVC as a former player herself. A graduate of Redwood High School in 2004, she was a three-year letter winner and helped lead her team to three straight MCAL Championships. As a senior, she guided Redwood to the Northern California Finals, capping an accomplished high school career.

She continued her playing career at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where she competed as a setter on the Rebels’ NCAA Division I volleyball team. Her collegiate experience built on the leadership and technical skills she had developed at Redwood, providing her with insight into the demands of high-level competition and the importance of teamwork, consistency, and resilience.

Since then, Liana has given back to the sport as a coach, including leading CYO programs in San Francisco. She brings a player-first perspective to her coaching, emphasizing fundamentals, confidence, and team culture. Returning to AVC as a coach is especially meaningful for her, and she is excited to help young athletes grow in both their volleyball skills and their personal development, just as she once did as an AVC player.
