Meet Kelsey Breunig

Kelsey Breunig begins her inaugural season with Absolute Volleyball Club in 2025–26 as the Head Coach of 14 White and Assistant Coach of 15 Pink. She brings eight years of coaching experience, most recently serving as an Assistant Coach at the University of Providence in Montana from 2021–24. During her time with the Argos, she helped mentor 21 student-athletes to earn Scholar-Athlete Honors and also head coached club teams at the 12s, 13s, and 18s levels.

As a collegiate athlete, Kelsey was a standout at the University of Providence, where she played during the 2018 and 2019 seasons. She helped lead the Argos to back-to-back Frontier Conference Tournament Championships and the program’s first-ever appearances at the NAIA National Championship Tournament. Individually, she earned Frontier Conference Newcomer of the Year, 1st Team All-Conference, and 2nd Team All-American honors in 2018, followed by Frontier Conference Player of the Year, Northwest Region Player of the Year, and 1st Team All-American in 2019.

Before her time at Providence, Kelsey competed at Cabrillo College in California, playing both indoor and sand volleyball while pursuing an AA degree in Communications. She was a key contributor to Cabrillo’s historic 2013 season, when the Seahawks went 31-0 to capture the CCCAA State Championship. That year, she was named Coast Conference North All-Conference, CCCAA State Tournament MVP, and California Community College Athletic Association Female Athlete of the Month. In 2014, she helped lead Cabrillo to another conference title and a runner-up finish at the CCCAA State Championship, earning Coast Conference North Player of the Year, 1st Team All-State Tournament Team, and 1st Team All-American recognition. She later transferred to West Texas A&M before completing her collegiate career at Providence.

Kelsey’s coaching philosophy reflects her experience as both an elite athlete and collegiate coach. She values discipline, resilience, and a team-first mentality, with an emphasis on helping athletes grow not only as players but also as leaders and individuals. Her goal is to instill confidence, foster strong work habits, and inspire athletes to pursue excellence on and off the court.
