Kelly Luz

Kelly Luz returns to Absolute Volleyball Club for the 2025–26 season as the Assistant Coach of 17 Pink, after previously coaching on the boys’ side with 12 Blue and 14 Blue. She began her AVC journey in 2024–25, working with girls’ teams at the 12s and 13s levels, including 13 White, as well as assisting with boys’ teams from 14s through 18s. Prior to AVC, she also coached with SMBC, where she helped guide a team to a third-place finish at the 2024 AAU Nationals.

As a player, Kelly competed as a libero and setter at Mills High School, where she earned CIF First Team honors in 2019 and was inducted into the Mills Athlete Hall of Fame. She went on to play at the College of San Mateo before completing her undergraduate degree in Strategic and Corporate Communications at Chapman University in 2023. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Sport Management at the University of San Francisco.

Kelly’s coaching philosophy emphasizes hard work, teamwork, and a love of the game. She strives to create a supportive environment where players feel empowered to grow both as athletes and individuals, developing confidence, skills, and resilience along the way. Inspired by the positive influence of her own coaches, she seeks to instill the same lasting impact in her athletes by preparing them for success on and off the court.

Outside of volleyball, Kelly enjoys reading, photography, spending time with family and friends, and watching sunsets. Coaching brings her joy not only because of the competition, but also because of the relationships built and the opportunity to give back to the sport that has shaped her life.
