Meet Daya Mosqueda

Dayanara “Daya” Mosqueda Aranda returns to Absolute Volleyball Club for the 2025–26 season as an Assistant Coach of 13 Pink and 16 Pink. In 2024–25, she began her AVC coaching journey as an Assistant Coach of 15 White and 12 Pink. Though new to the staff, Daya brings a wealth of recent playing experience and a deep passion for the game, making her an exciting addition to the AVC coaching team.

A graduate of Windsor High School, Daya made history as the first athlete in the school’s history to be nominated as an All-American. A defensive specialist and libero, she set records for her consistency, quickness, and leadership on the court. Her high school success led her to Santa Rosa Junior College, where she earned First Team All-Conference honors in both her freshman and sophomore years. She was named Team MVP and Athlete of the Year, and she ranked third in the state for total digs and digs per set—testament to her outstanding skill, discipline, and work ethic.

Daya’s coaching philosophy is deeply influenced by her experience as a high-level athlete. She is committed to building strong relationships with her players and creating an environment where they feel supported, confident, and challenged to grow. Her goals are to help athletes strengthen their technical skills, game IQ, and mental toughness while fostering resilience and a love for the sport. She believes that lessons learned through volleyball—such as confidence, perseverance, and teamwork—translate into life skills that serve her players well beyond the court.

Outside of volleyball, Daya enjoys cooking, exploring fashion, and spending quality time with her family. As the youngest of 32 grandchildren, she cherishes the strong family connections that have shaped her values and outlook on life. With her competitive background, strong character, and enthusiasm for teaching, Daya brings energy and inspiration to AVC and is poised to make a lasting impact on the athletes she coaches.
