Meet Katie Pease

Katie Pease returns as the Co-Head Coach of 13 Black and Head Coach of 15 Black for the 2025-2026 season. In the 2024-2025 season, both of Katie’s 13 Black and 15 Black teams double qualified in the Open Division. Both 13 Black and 15 Black finished top 20 in the nation. Katie has coached the 13’s and 16’s level for the past 16 seasons at AVC.

Katie is a highly competitive and hardworking coach. She began her coaching journey in 1995 at Tomales High School with the Varsity Girls Volleyball team where she built the program into NCS Champions in just 2 short years. She then went on to coach at Redwood High School for 19 years. In that time she turned Redwood into League, Sectional, and Regional champions. Her teams averaged 30 wins per season for every year she was there. This included 16 MCAL league championship titles. Her teams also captured 11 North coast section titles and appeared in 17 CIF state tournaments. Her overall record at Redwood was 614-153.

Katie is the owner as well as club Director of Absolute Volleyball. She began the club in 2006. The very first year there were 6 teams. The club has grown in size every year since then to its current capacity of 23 girls teams and 7 boys teams.

Katie has achieved tremendous success on the club side as well. She has 4 USA National Medals: A GOLD NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP medal with her 13 Black team (2015), a silver medal, and 2 bronze medals. Both her teams have finished in the top 5 in the NCVA region every season for the past 14 years.

Katie has coached all of the best players to come through at AVC. She has had players go on to play at very successful schools such as Texas, Stanford, Long Beach, Yale, Pepperdine, CAL, Baylor, LMU, Northwestern, USD, Oklahoma, UC Davis, Dartmouth, Princeton, Oregon, and more.

Katie’s coaching philosophy is driven by her love of the game. Katie’s biggest asset and strength is her ability to teach fundamentals and the technical side of the game.

She loves the lessons it teaches you not just about volleyball but also about life. She is a firm believer that with a little bit of instruction and a lot of belief players can accomplish any goal they sent their minds to. Her approach is centered on getting players to believe in themselves and giving them the tools and the guidance necessary to be successful.
